How to Create New LiteBlue.USPS.Gov Password?

Here is the process of creating a new login password for LiteBlue.

How to Generate New LiteBlue Password?

Start by creating a strong password by following these steps:

  • It must have at least one character of three of the following four types of characters:
  • Numbers 0-9
  • Alphabetical letters a-z (lowercase letters)
  • Letters A to Z (uppercase)
  • Special characters like @ ! $ % ^ * _ + ~ (other than these no special character is allowed)
  • It must be between 8 to 16 characters.

Now follow the above rules and generate a new password with one of the following options:

Option One for LiteBlue Website:

Go to ssp.usps.gov and tap “Forgot your password?” and follow the instructions on the screen to create your new password. If you enter an email address, a confirmation link will be sent to this email address. You must click on this confirmation link within 72 hours to complete the new password setting.

Option Two for LiteBlue Portal:

In April 2014, letters with a temporary password were sent for use on the SSP website to the registration address of each employee. You must reset the temporary password specified in the letter to a permanent one.
Here are the instructions to create your profile and reset your temporary password:

  • To log in to the SSP website, enter ssp.usps.gov. Or write “SSP” in the address bar of any blue page.
  • Click on the “Enter SSP” button. The login window of SSP appears.
  • Now provide your employee identification number (EIN).
  • Input your temporary password, which you will find in the upper right corner of your letter.
  • Click on the “Register” button. The self-service profile setting screen appears.
  • Change your temporary password by entering it in the “New password” field and then in the “Confirm password” field. General information and password rules will be displayed.
  • Click on the “Next” button to continue.
  • Select two “security questions” and input your answer to those questions. This will allow you to restore access if you don’t remember your new password.
  • Click on the “Next” button to continue.
  • Enter a valid email address and confirm. (This is optional) If you do not want to enter an email address, select the Ignore emails later checkbox and update.
  • Click on the “Next” button to move ahead. Click on the “Submit” button. (Check for error messages if any and correct them if necessary).
  • The first pop-up window containing the profile settings is displayed. If applicable, you will be asked to confirm your email address by clicking on the link sent.
  • Click on the “OK” button.
  • The SSP home page is displayed.
  • On this page, you can see the Profile summary, manage your password, ask questions, enter your email address or log out by clicking on the appropriate button. In addition, you can manage your 4-digit USPS personal identification number for access to USPS telephone Interactive Voice Response IVR Self-Service applications.

After following these instructions, you have successfully configured your SSP Profile. You can now log in to any USPS HR self service online application by using your EIN and password.
